Steve has long, pale gold hair, green eyes, and a pale complexion. In contradiction to typical Eladrin culture, he tends to wear his hair tied back as opposed to wearing it down (this is generally when he is out adventuring, he will wear his hair down while being casual). He takes pride in his beautiful golden hair and gets angered when anything messes them up. It is easier for the hair not to get messed up while adventuring when it is tied back.
For his everyday clothing, Steve prefers tailored, fitted clothing of finer fabrics. While adventuring, he prefers to be well equipped with his longsword, chainmail, tall boots, and a small shield.
The tale of Steve is a rather simple one. He grew up in the Feywild, in a small, but elaborate Eladrin city. He was born to a wealthy, prominent family. From which he learned his social graces at a young age. Such as: how to sweet talk and flatter other prominent individuals, lie to them, manipulate them, and even how to intimidate them, all with a manner of refined grace and dignity.
His given name is Aramil, which he believes to be too beautiful and wonderful to be butchered by the likes of the inhabitants of the mortal realm. He thereby goes by the name of ‘Steve’ (of which he won’t admit due to his pride, but he is rather fond of that name). He changed it after he came to the mortal realm.
Unlike most Eladrin, Steve did not have an aptitude for magic. He also found the pursuit of knowledge boring, although he did understand the importance of it. To avoid the embarrassment and frustration his magic and history lessons usually brought him, Steve decided to use his social graces in an attempt to talk his way out of class. He was please to be met with success at this endeavor and would often spend his newfound free time either watching other Eladrin swordplay or playing in the nearby woods, fighting off invisible foes with his stick sword.
It did not take long for Steve to become tired of playing alone. He felt alone and in spite of his fascination with swordplay, he decided to return to his history and magic lessons. Wanting to be with people, but not wanting to be in the class, Steve found himself in a dilemma. How could he manipulate the situation to his favor? He began to run experiments on his masters. He started asking questions in order to deviate from the lessons. If attention was brought upon him to demonstrate or identify a spell, Steve would instead show off a new sword move, stance, or pose. Some of his masters grew furious with him, others could not keep up with the child’s energy or antics, and a few of them were oblivious to the manipulation.
At the beginning, many of the masters who refused to put up with Steve’s intentional distractions would kick him out of classes for the day. Steve would take this time to watch in on swordplay lessons and mentally figure out effective ways to apply it in real combat. He would then borrow his father’s longsword and practice the move with either dummies or wild game. After a while, several of his masters and peers grew exhausted from fighting Steve’s personality, and many of them eventually resigned themselves to it. Others grew quiteHHhhkds contemptuous of him, but because of his family’s influence, Steve was sheltered from any disdain of his masters and peers.
Throughout his teen years, Steve was quite the charmer. In those years his two biggest pursuits were swordsmanship and love. However, Steve’s parents were never thrilled with his choice in women. So as Steve drew near marriageable age, they began to set him up with dates of their choosing. He did not approve of course, and would intentionally be difficult in preparation for these dates. During them, he had a difficult time not letting his social training get in the way, so he rarely came off as anything less than charming.
Aside from these occasional setups, Steve continued on with his normal dating life, meeting with a sheer lack of approval from his parents. They felt that Steve was not taking this seriously and forbade him from seeing anyone other than the women they set him up with. In a particularly foul mood on his next date, Steve made it a goal to point out his date’s flaws to her. Very hurt and angry, she shot back, “You know, the only reason anyone even puts up with you, is your parent’s influence.” She then stormed off, never speaking a word to him or his family again.
The harsh words she said stung worse than a slap in the face. Could his family’s position really be the only reason that anyone cared for him at all? He tried to bounce back to his old life, but nothing seemed to be the same. He could no longer interact with his peers or masters without questioning their motives. Steve would spend his free times wandering around thinking of ways to prove her wrong. He finally decided that in order to disprove her, he would have to find a place outside of his family’s influence.
Steve went out and purchased his own armor, sword, shield, and adventuring kit. He also picked up a Longbow and arrows just in case, from an Elven trader. Returning to his home, he left a note for his parents. Steve left his hometown in search of places where his family held no influence. A few weeks out, a worldfall occurred in the city he happened to be passing through, transporting him to the mortal realm. If ever there were a place that his family held no influence, it was here. Also, there would be better venues for learning and solidifying his swordsmanship and fighting styles. And thus Steve left the Eladrin city to explore this mortal realm.
